Airborne Review

AirBorne (Airborne Saga #1) by Constance

Find it on Amazon:
Avery knew she had a knack for attracting trouble, but even she is shocked when a six-foot-something harpie shows up on her doorstep. Coping with the existence of a mythological race? Okay. Unwittingly finding herself in the middle of a vicious harpie conflict? A little less okay. Having to rely on an arrogant harpie boy who gets under her skin? Now that is something Avery isn't sure she can handle.

what I gave it 2.5/5!

Where I got it: eBook

My thoughts:
This book could have honestly had more potential if the writing was a little bit better, and the author fleshed out the characters more. I mean the story was really good and creative, but the writing was so confusing. It would constantly jump from first to third POV. I'd find my self rereading passages because the author couldn't seem to keep on one subject for long either, so it seem ed like I missed something but I really didn't. For example one minute she was drowning in a river the next she was buying a plane ticket from Alaska to California! The author didn't even tell us how she got or bought the ticket, but you'd think being swept down river, and hit against rocks you'd lose your money and everything else in your pockets. Plus how in the hell is a 17 year old girl carrying enough cash on her to buy a one way plane ticket last minute?! That's like $260! The most money I ever carry around is the $500 my dad gives me to shop before school! Little details like this I think authors and proof readers should be more aware of when writing/editing.

Read this book if you want something different outside the normal paranormal romance genre. You may like it, or may not like the book like my self, but hey go for it if you want to.

Book Blogger Hop: 7/29- 8/1

Book Blogger Hop

This week's Question:
“Highlight one book you have received this week (for review, from the library, purchased at the store, etc.) that you can’t wait to dig into!”

I was at the Library this Wednesday when they were putting out the new releases and I noticed  Always a Witch By Carolyn MacCullough on one of the Librarians carts and squeed! I grabbed it and asked if I could have it and she said I could, which totally made my day! I you haven't heard of  Always a Witch it is the sequel to  Once a Witch
Always a Witch Once a Witch
check them out on Goodreads:

I really loved Once a Witch when I read it in 2009 so it has been a long wait for the second book! But as far as I can tell so far (I  am half through it) it is not a disappointment!

The Iron Queen Review

The Iron Queen by Julie Kagawa

The New York Times Bestseller
My name is Meghan Chase.
I thought it was over. That my time with the fey, the impossible choices I had to make, the sacrifices of those I loved, was behind me. But a storm is approaching, an army of Iron fey that will drag me back, kicking and screaming. Drag me away from the banished prince who's sworn to stand by my side. Drag me into the core of conflict so powerful, I'm not sure anyone can survive it.
This time, there will be no turning back.

What I gave it: 5/5 five out of five!!!

Where I got it: eBook

My thoughts:
This book I kind of have to love and hate!!! Honestly it seems the characters in this story can't catch a break! Finally Ash and Meghan are together and the flipping faery world has to go to hell!! I was so p!ssed at the end that I started to cry. Everyone in this story gets a la de da happy ending except Ash, Meghan, and Puck! It's going to drive me crazy for The Iron Knight (hopefully the publisher will send me an ARC!!), because of the little fact everything is screwy for the three main characters! But those little twists are what make this book my favorite out of the series, sure it infuriated me at times, but those types of emotions prove it's a good book (I seriously haven't been this mad since Richelle Mead's Shadow Kiss). But yes, The Iron Knight comes out on October 25, which I'm surely going to be more insane before it's out.

The Iron Daughter Review

The Iron Daughter (Iron Fey #2) by Julie Kagawa

Half Summer faery princess, half human, Meghan has never fit in anywhere. Deserted by the Winter prince she thought loved her, she is prisoner to the Winter faery queen. As war looms between Summer and Winter, Meghan knows that the real danger comes from the Iron fey—ironbound faeries that only she and her absent prince have seen. But no one believes her.
Worse, Meghan's own fey powers have been cut off. She's stuck in Faery with only her wits for help. Trusting anyone would be foolish. Trusting a seeming traitor could be deadly. But even as she grows a backbone of iron, Meghan can't help but hear the whispers of longing in her all-too-human heart.
what I gave it: 5/5 Five out of Five!!! I was sooo happy at the end of this book!
Where I got it: eBook
My thoughts:
This book was just as good as the first one, but this one tugged on my heartstrings a little more than the first one, but I absolutely loved this one!!! But I have to say The Iron Queen is my favorite! The love triangle in this book was good too. I'm team Ash, but Puck holds a little place and I couldn't help but feel sorry for him! He's the underdog of the story so I can't help but feel sorry for him. Ash on the other hand was kind of a jerk in this book, but I get why he had to do what he had to do. But I recommend this book to people who are fans of Melissa Marr's Wicked Lovely series, and for the people who just want a good love triangle.

Evernight Review

               Evernight By Claudia Gray

Find it on Goodreads:
Find it on Amazon:

            Bianca wants to escape.
She's been uprooted from her small hometown and enrolled at Evernight Academy, an eerie Gothic boarding school where the students are somehow too perfect: smart, sleek, and almost predatory. Bianca knows she doesn't fit in.
Then she meets Lucas. He's not the "Evernight type" either, and he likes it that way. Lucas ignores the rules, stands up to the snobs, and warns Bianca to be careful—even when it comes to caring about him.
"I couldn't stand it if they took it out on you," he tells Bianca, "and eventually they would."
But the connection between Bianca and Lucas can't be denied. Bianca will risk anything to be with Lucas, but dark secrets are fated to tear them apart . . . and to make Bianca question everything she's ever believed.

What I gave it: 4/5 Four outta Five! I liked It

Where I got it: Borrowed from Tonya

My thoughts:
   *Spoiler Alert*
Okay, I NEVER do this, but I figure since this has been out for a while now most have read it already or at least heard all about it so here goes..... I LOVED that the first half of the book you have NO CLUE that Bianca is a Vampire... That was really good. BUT and yes it's a big BUT I didn't really like how the story progressed... too slow in some parts too fast in others, and it wasn't even that I didn't like the writing, Because I did! I don't really think it was the writing itself so much as the writing style maybe that didn't agree with me. Regardless I did like the Characters and I look forward to Reading the next book!

The Iron King Review

The Iron King by Julie Kagawa

Find it on Amazon:
The Iron King (Harlequin Teen)

Meghan Chase has a secret destiny--one she could never have imagined...

Something has always felt slightly off in Meghan's life, ever since her father disappeared before her eyes when she was six. She has never quite fit in at school...or at home.

When a dark stranger begins watching her from afar, and her prankster best friend becomes strangely protective of her, Meghan senses that everything she's known is about to change.

But she could never have guessed the truth-- that she is the daughter of a mythical faery king and is a pawn in a deadly war. Now Meghan will learn just how far she'll go to save someone she cares about, to stop a mysterious evil no faery creature dare face...and to find love with a young prince who might rather see her dead than let her touch his icy heart.

What I gave it: 5/5 five out of five! :'DD

Where I got it: eBook

My thoughts:
This book has become my favorite stories about fae, because this story just sucked me in and hasn't let me out. When I finished this book I ran to my dad asking for the credit card right then and there because I literally needed the next book The Iron Daughter. The Iron King was written beautifully, I found my self laughing at certain quotes, and at the same time going awww. The heroine of this story is also down to earth, and not all over the super hot guy that she travels with (unlike some books when that's all they think about). Meghan would honestly be the type of girl you'd find in my school, and she relates to me sort of, especial since she had animals like myself (I have a Buffalo, yes I know isn't she dangerous? No mine thinks she's an over size dog. I am not kidding you). Also, I think I'm in love also. His name is a Ash, and he's a fictional!!! Why can't guys actually be like this?! And the way the author describes him sounds like my type of dream guy! I mean he's heroic, but not clingy! Perfect!!

Rachel's Teaser:
Beautiful Darkness (Beautiful Creatures, Book 2)

Thelma opened the door before I knocked. She looked right past me to the cat, crossing her arms. "Hey there,
Lucille licked her paw lazily, then busied herself with sniffing her tail. She might as well have flipped Thelma
off. "You comin' by to say you like Amma's biscuits better 'n mine?" Lucille was the only cat I knew who ate
biscuits and gravy
instead of cat food. She meowed, as if she had a few choice words on the subject.

Paranormalcy Review

Paranormalcy (Paranormalcy #1) By

Weird as it is working for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, Evie’s always thought of herself as normal. Sure, her best friend is mermaid, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, she's falling for a shape-shifter, and she's the only person who can see through paranormals' glamours, but still. Normal
Only now paranormals are dying, and Evie's dreams are filled with haunting voices and mysterious prophecies. She soon realizes that there may be a link between her abilities and the sudden rash of deaths. Not only that, but she may very well be at the center of a dark faerie prophecy promising destruction to all paranormal creatures.
So much for normal....

What I gave it:
5/5 five out of five!!!

Where I got it:
My Local Library

My thoughts:
I am not sure why but for some reason I was not in any hurry to check this off my to read list, The ONLY reason I picked it up was because I was in a hurry and it was on the front display at the Library. Now let me just say... Maybe it was the "book gods" giving me a little push in the right direction like they often do because this book ROCKS!! This girl Evie is smart and funny and is tough as nails! Her best friend is a mermaid, her job is bagging and tagging Paranormals like Vamps and Weres. She uses Faeries to transport her anywhere in the world. And just like any teen she's addicted to a popular teen drama T.v show her life is pretty good.. except she's Lonely.  But when Paranormals start being murdered basically the s*%t hits the fan! But she does meet a guy and falls in love so things aren't all bad. Lend her boyfriend is such a cool guy not to mention an awesome Paranormal with really cool Glamours! I really got into this story and felt for Evie I can't wait to see where her story goes from here!  The next book
Supernaturally  (Paranormalcy 2)    comes out in two days!! YAY!

                  Book Blogger Hop: 7/22-7/25

This week's Question:
What’s the ONE GENRE that you wish you could get into, but just can’t?

My Answer :
Romance... not that my favored Urban Fantasies don't have any romance to them, because they totally do but Romance as a genre it's self .....booooring!  Cannot and will not hold my attention! And besides all those Fabio look alike heroes that all have bulging members and go at it all night... yeah I read fiction but that's way too make-believe for me!

Immortal Beloved Review

Immortal Beloved
By Cate Tiernan

Find it on Goodreads;

Find it on Amazon:
Immortal Beloved (Immortal Beloved (Cloth - Trilogy))

Nastasya has spent the last century living as a spoiled, drugged-out party girl. She feels nothing and cares for no one. But when she witnesses her best friend, a Dark Immortal, torture a human, she realizes something's got to change. She seeks refuge at a rehab for wayward immortals, where she meets the gorgeous, undeniably sexy Reyn, who seems inexplicably linked to her past.Nastasya finally begins to deal with life, and even feels safe--until the night she learns that someone wants her dead.
Cate Tiernan, author of the popular Sweep series, returns with an engaging story of a timeless struggle and inescapable romance, the first book in a stunning new fantasy trilogy.

What I gave it: 5/5 five out of five!!!

Where I got it:
My Local Library

My thoughts:
First of all let me just say I LOVE the names in this book, The main character's name is Nastasya, Nasty for short (How great is that!!!) And The male lead is Reyn (pronounced Rain) Her best friend/turned bad guy is Innocencio and Incy for short, Just to name a few! After watching Incy seriously injure a cabbie in London without doing anything to stop him Nasty kinda freaks out and secretly runs off to America to a home for wayward Immortals.. LOL which is basically Rehab for Immortals. Nasty is  almost 460 years old she has had a very hard life at times and has emotionally shut down, with pretty good reason though. I really fell for her story the flashbacks to her past are mostly heartbreaking but she is a tough smartass that handles it all pretty well.
